How to use this guidance

The output is advisory, not a diagnosis of the fabric or stain. Colors, trims, coatings and construction can change what treatment a garment tolerates. There is no universal compatibility rule.

Keep products in their original containers and follow their storage directions. Never mix bleach with ammonia, acids or other cleaners. Use a single product only as its label directs.

Inspect before drying. Stop if color transfers, the finish changes or a label prohibits the proposed treatment. For a valuable garment, an unknown fiber or a dry-clean-only item, ask a professional cleaner.
